Let me tell you what my show cost me. I had the ring. I had the fur. I had the shoes — the expensive ones, the ones you don't wear, you display. And I had the watch.
After nearly 30 years of marriage, when everything was said and done, I walked away with almost nothing of lasting financial value. The ring had almost no resale value. The fur was beautiful. The shoes were gorgeous. And none of it — not one piece — could pay a bill, create equity, or be passed down as wealth.
We had always planned to invest in real estate. We both believed in it. But we waited — because we knew an inheritance was coming. Our divorce was finalized just before that first windfall. I walked away with nothing after decades of working, raising children, and believing.
That moment became a mission: I will not let my daughters lose what I lost. And I will not let it happen to you either.
